Assistant Accountant
An established company in Merthyr Tydfil are now recruiting for an experienced Assistant Accountant on a permanent basis. The company manufactures a range of products at their specifically designed facility which are high volume and high quality.
The Assistant Accountant will report to the Management Accountant and will play a key role in ensuring the accuracy and smooth running of the companies’ accounting processes.
Assistant Accountant duties
- Help produce month end management accounts by being involved with Accruals and prepayments, costing, stock and sales reporting.
- Work with Management Accountant to establish standard costs and update as appropriate.
- Assist with fixed asset and stock physical checks on annual basis.
- Assisting sales team with any queries/requests.
- Generation of budget reports on monthly basis and review meetings with budget holder
- Material Variance Analysis.
- Ensuring all Ledgers are clean and any discrepancies are dealt with in a timely manner.
- GRNI Reviews, investigating and correcting anomalies.
- Checking and maintaining expenses and credit card records/ receipts.
- Intercompany reconciliations on monthly basis.
- Participate in audits by providing necessary documentation and explanations as required.
- Assist Management accountant and Financial Controller on request.
Assistant Accountant person specification
- Demonstrable relevant experience in a finance role.
- AAT Level four qualified (desirable).
- Excellent computer skill, in particular Excel.
- High level of accuracy and attention to detail.
- Resilient with a hardworking attitude.
- Ability to think outside the box and provide solutions to financial challenges.
