Assistant Accountant Contract
An innovative manufacturing company in Caerphilly are recruiting for an Assistant Accountant on Fixed Term Contract (12-18 months) basis.
Working as part of a small team and reporting to the Finance Manager, this role is responsible for a range of duties encompassing management and financial accounting.
Assistant Accountant duties
- Prepare month end accruals in line with the requirement of the business.
- Maintain the fixed asset register and prepare depreciation calculation.
- Complete VAT Returns and relevant ONS surveys.
- Ensure all credit card expenses are correctly recorded.
- Assist in month end and yearly stock counts.
- Review average cost v. standard cost on a weekly basis, investigate errors and amend.
- Assist in analysing production variance.
Assistant Accountant person specification
- Able to work to deadlines, with good time management and organisational skills.
- Good communication skills, being able to develop strong internal and external relationships.
- Flexible approach and willing to work additional hours when the job requires.
- Computer literate (Microsoft packages).
- Attention to detail.
An opportunity to join a hardworking and high-performing finance team in a busy role. Initially on a fixed term contract basis, this may lead to a permanent appointment due to various projects that are scheduled.
Induction and training will be completed onsite, thereafter a hybrid policy of three days in the office, two from home is in place.
