Management Accountant
An established and successful company in Merthyr Tydfil are recruiting for an experienced Management Accountant on a permanent basis.
The company has a long presence in the area and has a developed a reputation for excellence due to the quality of their products.
Reporting to the company’s Financial Controller, this role is responsible for accurate and insightful financial reporting and analysis that will inform business decisions.
Management Accountant job description
- Take responsibility for the general ledger accounting entries which includes monthly, quarterly, and yearly reconciliations for general ledger accounts, sub-ledgers, stock and Bank, journal entries for month end, and corrections and producing P&L accounts with commentary and variance analysis.
- Acting as a Finance Business Partner to work with operational colleagues, reviewing costs and margins.
- Responsible for developing and maintaining cost accounting system.
- Understand production processes to produce Costings.
- Produce Sales and Margin Analysis reports.
- Cashflow Forecasting.
- Support audits by providing necessary documentation and explanations.
- Actively involved in planned projects, including an ERP implementation and implementing process improvements.
- Working closely with the Financial Controller and deputise in meetings when required.
- Assist in documenting procedures and process.
- Mentoring a small finance team.
Management Accountant person specification
- Demonstrable experience in a similar role.
- Strong academic background, being at least a part qualified Accountant.
- Excellent organisation and analytical thinking skills.
- You are proficient with Office, especially Excel, and familiar with ERP systems.
- A hands-on mentality, ability to work independently with a high degree of team spirit.
